Membership in the National Honor Society at Chapel Hill High School is by invitation. To be eligible, students must have a minimum weighted GPA of 3.800 and 60 hours of service learning credit.
Current GPAs for Juniors will be obtained from counselors at the end of the first semester (usually late January or early February). For students with a weighted 3.800 GPA or higher, the number of service learning hours will be obtained from the district coordinator. It is very important for students to submit their service learning hours well in advance and confirm that those submitted hours have been approved and recorded in order for students to meet the 60-hour requirement at this time. Students meeting both requirements will receive a written invitation by mail to apply for membership. Therefore, it is also important for the school to have the correct mailing address in Powerschool for students wishing to apply. Completing an application does not ensure membership.
